\1 n !i WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock, upon the basis of
11 an engineering and traffic investigation finds it necessary to alter prima Ii facie speed limits as established by Section 166(A)(l) of Article 6701d,
:J Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, within the locations named within the
II body of this Ordinance within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock,
1 Texas; NOW THEREFORE: ii
di :j BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
ii ii SECTION 1. THAT the prima facie speed limits on the following
11 streets and highways set forth below are hereby altered and changed as is
/: hereinafter set forth upon the following described portions of such streets
,, and/or highways located within the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, n ii to-wit:

A forty-five mile per hour (45 MPH) speed limit on 82nd Street
from University Avenue to Elgin Avenue, and from Memphis Avenue
to Frankford Avenue.
:1 :· SECTION 2. THAT all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances conflicting
with any of the provisions hereof are hereby repealed insofar as such
, conflict exists.
!
SECTION 3. THAT all highways or streets not specifically named
herein shall not be affected by the provisions hereof, and this Ordinance
shall be cumulative of all other prima facie speed limit Ordinances except
those with which it specifically conflicts.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to cause the placing and maintenance of such traffic control signs and/or
devices as shall be necessary to apprise the public of the zones as
hereinabove set forth.
SECTION 5. THAT this Ordinance shall expire and be of no effect
after the passage of ninety (90) days from its effective date.

SECTION 6. THAT violation of any provisions of this Ordinance shall
be deemed a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars ($200.00) as provided by Section 1-4 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Lubbock.
SECTION 7. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase,
clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid
for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected
thereby.
SECTION 8. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed
to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an
alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
