ORDINANCE NO. 9466
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING TWO-WAY TRAFFIC ON lOTH STREET FROM ITS
INTERSECTION WITH AVENUE S TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH AVENUE R; PRESCRIBING A
PENALTY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS
ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, after traffic engineering studies having been made and
reported to the City Council of the City of Lubbock, said City Council finds
it is in the interest of the public safety and public welfare to improve
traffic conditions in the City of Lubbock to change one-way traffic on lOth
Street from Avenue S to Avenue R to two-way traffic on said lOth Street; NOW
THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT from and after the passage and effective date of this
ordinance, two-way traffic for both east and west bound traffic is
immediately established on lOth Street from its intersection with AvenueS
to its intersection with Avenue R, all being done in the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas.
SECTION 2. THAT any person, firm or corporation violating the
provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined any sum not to
exceed TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00).
SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary is authorized and directed 'to
cause the publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance, together
with penalty provision, as an alternative method of publication as provided
by law, and this Ordinance shall become effective ten (10) days after its
last publication.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
