i AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6, ARTICLE III OF THE CODE OF
OrDINANCES, CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, ENTITLED "PLUMBING CODES" BY ADOPTING ·
TE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1991 EDITION; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY, PROVIDING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.

1 WHEREAS, the proposed amendments to the Plumbing Code have been
recommended by the Plumbing and Mechanical Board; and
i
WHEREAS, the City Council has found the proposed amendment to be
expedient and in the interest of the public health, safety and general
welfare; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: I
, SECTION 1. THAT Section 6-81 of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Lµbbock, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 6-81. Uniform Plumbing Code, 1991 Edition, adopted.
The 1991 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code, as
copyrighted in 1991 by the International Association of
Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, Los Angeles, California,
along with the appendices thereto, as amended in this article,
is specifically adopted as the Plumbing Code of the City, and
incorporated herein by reference as though set out completely
in detail. References in this article to the Uniform Plumbing
Code shall mean the 1991 Edition. A copy of said Uniform
Plumbing Code as hereinafter amended shall be filed with the
City Secretary and a copy maintained in the office of the
Building Official, all such copies to be open to public
inspection during business hours of the offices where they are
maintained, with the amendments thereto provided in this article."
. SECTION 2. THAT violation of any provisions of this Ordinance shall
b~ deemed a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred
dpllars {$200.00) as provided in Section 6-81.2 of the City Code.
i SECTION 3. THAT should any paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or
wbrd of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any
reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. !
: SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause
p~blication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative m~thod provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
