VANDELIA VILLAGE ADDITION AND A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 3,. BLOCK E., LUBBOCK COUNTY~ TEXAS. FROM AN "R-2" AND AN 11A ... l" TO AN uA-2" ZONING D1STRICT; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recom- mendation, which was received by the City Council and after due consideration, the City Council finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amend- ment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with., as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices provided by Article 1011f, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 19611 and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morriirg Avalanche Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Or dinance and this Ordinance having been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED • BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ortlinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 1781 Change Lot 17, Block 14, Lot 13, Block 15, Van ... delia Village Addition and a tract of land out of Section 3, Block E, Lubbock County, Texas, from an nR-2" and an "A-1 11 to an "A-211 Zoning District. Tracts of land further described by metes and bounds to-wit: TRACT I v • BEGINNING at a point which is the Southwest Corner of Lot 17~ Block 14, Vandelia Village, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, said point being also described as lying 116.49 feet North and 2432. 50 feet West of the Southeast corner of Sec- tion 3, Block E, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE South 86.49 feet, more or less, to a point 30. 0 feet, more or less, North of the South line of said Section 3, Block E, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE East a distance of 162. 5 feet,oore or less, to a point, said point being at the jWlcture of Temple Avenue and 66th Street; THENCE North 112. 18 feet to a point, said point being the South east corner of Lot 17, Block 14, Vandelia Village, an Addition to the City of Lubbock,Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE South 81 degrees 01 minutes West, a distance of 164. 52 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. TRACT II BEGINNING at a point which is the Southwest corner of Lot 13, Block 15, Vandelia Village, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock CO\.mty, Texas; THENCE South 121. 06 feet to a point, said point being the Northeast corner of the intersection of 66th Street and Temple A venue; THENCE North 78 degrees 24 minutes East 368.03 feet to a point; THENCE North 8 degrees 00 minutes East 63. 69 feet to a point; THENCE South 75 degrees 24 minutes West 210. 52 feet to a point; THENCE North 6 degrees 33 minptes East 61.06 feet to a point; THENCE South 78 degrees 24 minutes West 59. 52 feet to a point; THENCE South 79 degrees 02 minutes West 125. 66 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. TRACT III BEGINNING at a. point 127. 38 feet South of the Southeast corner of Block 15, Vandelia Village, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE South 78 degrees 24 minutes West 368. 03 feet to a point, which said point is 30 feet North 'of the South line of said Section 3, Block E, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE East 350. 11 feet to a point; THENCE North 8 degrees 00 minutes East 74. 73 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Or- dinance, said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance herewith. SECTION 3. THAT should any sect:on, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
