ORDINANCE NO. 6166 -----
AN ORDINANCE ABANI)ONING AND CLOSING THE EAST-WEST ALLEY
AND A UTILITY EASEMENT BOTH SITUATED IN BLOCK s; SYLVAN DELL
HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,· LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS,
AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE ;
DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY
OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF THE ALLE fl
AND UTILITY EASEMENT AS AFORESAID.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley and tutility easement here•
inafter described are no longer needed for alley and easement purposes or for
public use; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to clos1 11
vacate and abandon the same for ·alley and easement purposes and to public use;
and,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY <DUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That the alley as hereinafter described shall BE and the sam
is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use;
BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of Lot 4, Block 8,
Sylvan Dell Heights Addition to the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West 420 feet to the Southwest corner of
Lot 10 of said Block 8;
'.PRENCE South 15 feet to the Northeast corner of
,t ot 11 of said Block 8;
THENCE East 420 feet to the Northeast corner of
Lot 17, of said Block 8;
THENCE North 15 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT the utility easement as hereinafter described shall
Be and the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for easement purposes
and for public use:
The East 20 feet of Lot 17~ Block 8~ Sylvan Dell
Heights Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas.

SECTION 3. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the alley and utility
easement as described in Sections 1 and 2 hereof have been closed and abandoned
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
