AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK BY ADDING THERETO A NEW CHAPTER 33B EN-
TITLED "MOBILE HOlVIE CODE"; DEFINING MOBILE HOMES AS USED
HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR STANDARDS OF MOBILE HOMES PLACED
WITHIN MOBILE HOMES SUBDIVISIONS; PROVIDING FOR INSPECTION OF
MOBILE HOME; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR

WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that additions to the City
Code as set forth below would be in the best interest of the citizens of the
City of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OFLUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the Code of Ordinances of the City of Lubbock BE
and is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Chapter 33B, entitled "Mo-
bile Home Code", which shall hereafter read as follows:
CHAPTER 33B
MOBILE HOME CODE
Section 33B-l. Title and Scope of Code.
There is hereby established a 11Mobile Home Code:' which shall apply
to mobile homes placed, assembled, erected or any additions made
thereto within a Mobile Home Subdivision within the City of Lubbock.
Section 33B-2. Definition.
The term 11mobile homerr, as used in this Chapter, shall mean any
vehicular, portable structure built on a chassis and designed to be
used without a permanent foundation as a dwelling when connected
to indicated utilities.
Section 33B-3. Standards.
All mobile homes placed within a mobile home subdivision shall con-
form with the standards established for mobile homes by United Statee
of America Standards Institute known as "Standard For Mobile Homes
(USAS A 119. 1, 1969 & NFPA No. 501 B, 1968). All other structures
on site, shall comply with all City of Lubbock Codes and Ordinances.
In addition, compliance shall be made with the appropriate sections of
the City Code concerning foundations, supports and utility connections
Section 33B•4. Inspection and Permit.
Inspection shall be made of mobile homes and mobile
home sites by the Building Official or his appropriate
inspectors, in accordance with the inspections required
in section 33B-3 above and the inspection fees authorized
therein shall be paid.
A permit shall be secured from the Building Official by
any person, firm or corporation desiring to place a mo•
bile home or make an addition to a mobile home within
a Mobile Home Subdivision. Such permit shall be secured
before any preparation of the lot is started prior to moving
in a mobile home or making an addition to a mobile home
in accordance with the Building Code.
Permits required by other Codes named above shall be
secured in the manner and at the time required in such
Code.
The Building Official may, at his discretion, accept a
manufacturer.ts certificate that the mobile home or its
addition was constructed according to the standards es-
tablished in Section 33B-3.
SECTION 2. THAT should any paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase
or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any rea
son, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause
publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative me-
thod provided by law.
