WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the street portions hereinafter de- scribed in the body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for street purposes and for public use; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for street purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the street portions as hereinafter described shall BE and the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street purposes and for public use, and being more particularly described as follows: METES ANO BOUNDS DESCRIPTION of a portion of Chicago Avenue to be closed and abandoned located in Section 27, Block E-2, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the East right-of-way 1 ine of Chicago Avenue which bears S. 89°54' E., a distance of 2244.80 feet and S. 00°06' W. a distance of 317.00 feet from the Northwest corner of Section 27, Block E-2, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE Southeasterly around a curve to the left, along said right- of-way line, said curve having a radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of 90°, tangent lengths of 15.00 feet and a chord distance of 21.21 feet to a point in said right-of-way line; THENCE S. 00°06' W., along said right-of-way line a distance of 56.00 feet to a point in said right-of-way line; THENCE Southwesterly around a curve to the left, along said right- of-way line said curve having a radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of 90°, tangent lengths of 15.00 feet, and a chord distance of 21.21 feet to a point in said right-of-way; THENCE N. 00°06' E. a distance of 86.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law.
