AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE EAST-WEST
ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 1 AND 2., BRIDWELL SUBDIVISION AND THAT POR-
TION OF EAST 49TH STREET ADJACENT TO LOTS 1 THROUGH 5, BLOCK
2, AND LOTS 6 THROUGH 10, BLOCK 1~ BRIDWELL SUBDIVISION AND A
PORTION OF EAST 48TH STREET ADJACENT TO BLOCK 2, BRIDWELL
SUBDIVISION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK., LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS.,
DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF
THE STREETS AND ALLEYS AS AFORESAID.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the streets and alleys, herein-
after described are no longer needed for street and alley purposes or for
public use; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to
close, vacate and abandon the same for street and alley purposes and to pub-
lic use, NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the streets and alleys as hereinafter described
shall be and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley
and street purposes and for public use:
The East-West alleys in Blocks 1 and 2, Bridwell
Subdivision and that portion of East 49th Street laying
adjacent to Lots 1 through 5, Bli ck 2 and Lots 6
through 10, Block 1, Bridwell Subdivision and a portion
of East 48th Street adjacent to Block 2, Bridwell Sub-
division of the Suburban Homes Addition, a subdivision
and part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 6, Block
B, Lubbock County, Texas;
and more particularly described as follows, to-wit:
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Lot 6, Block 2,
Brtdwell Subdivision;
THENCE East a distance of 305. 00 feet;
THENCE North a distance of 25. 00 feet;
THENCE West a distance of 12. 50 feet;
THENCE North a distance of 28. 00 feet;
THENCE Southwesterly around a curve whose radius point
bears West 15. 00 feet a curve distance of 23. 56 feet to a
point of tangency in the North right of way line of East
48th Street;
.!FHENCE West a distance of 277. 5 feet;
THENCE South a distance of 38, 00 feet to the PLACE
OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2, THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and di-
rected to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the
streets and alleys as described in Section 1 hereof have been closed and
abandoned, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final
passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
