HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 6096-1971 - Zoning Change-Case 1739, Tract Out Of Section 7, Blk E-2 - 05/26/1971GSL·sw ORDINANCE NO. 6096 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONIN"G ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1739: CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 7, BLOCK E-2, CITY OF LUBBOCK • .LUBBOCK COUNTY1 TEXAS, FROM AN "R-111 TO AN 11A-1 11 ZONING DISTRICT: PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION: WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendation, which was received by the City Council and after due con- sideration, the City Council finds that making the proposed change as herein- after set out will be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent recp ired by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No, 169~ as well as notices provided by Article lOllf, Vernon's Annotated Ci'vil Statutes, amended in 1961, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the Oty Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amende1 in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THERE FORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 1739 Change a tract of land out of Section 7. Block E-2, City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from an 'R-1 " to an 'i\.-1 11 Zoning District. The South One-Half (S/2) of a tract of land out of Section 7, Block E-2. Lubbock County, Texas; ·, BEGINNING 660 feet North of the Southwest corner of the Southwest Quarter of Section 7, Block E-2, for the be- ginning corner of this tract; THENCE North 66 O feet; THENCE West 660 feet; THENCE South 660 feet; THENCE East 660 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, and containing 5 acres of land, more or less, being the same property as was conveyed in a deed recorded in Volume 461, Page 179 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas. SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance, said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereo shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amen ded in accordance herewith. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reasop, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative meth d provided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED. May , 1971.
