AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF 35TH
STREET AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS
ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL
MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABAN
DONMENT OF THE PORTION OF 35TH STREET AS AFORESAID.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a portion of 35th Street, as
hereinafter more particularly described is no longer needed for street pur-
poses or for public use; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to
close, vacate and abandon the same for ereet purposes and to public use;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT a portion of the street as hereinafter described
shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street
purposes and for public use:
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot 1, Cora B.
Marshall Addition to the City of Lubbock, Texas;
THENCE South a distance of 50. 00 feet to a point;
THENCE East along the North line of Lot 3, said
Addition, a distance of 175. 0 feet to a point;
THENCE North a distance of 50. 0 feet to the South-
east corner of Lot 2, said Addition;
THENCE West along the South line of Lot 1, and 2,
said Addition, a distance of 17 5. 0 feet to the POINT
OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized
and directed to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that
the portion of the street as described in Section 1 hereof have been closed
and abandoned, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its
final passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
