ORDINANCE NO. 9596 -----
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING CUL-OE-SAC PORTIONS OF FIRST PLACE
IN SECTION 22, BLOCK A, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS; A FIVE FOOT UNDERGROUND UTILITY
EASEMENT LOCATED IN LOT 127, WHISPERWOOD ADDITION; AND A TRANSFORMER PAD EASE-
MENT LOCATED IN WHISPERWOOD ADDITION, CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS,
EACH OF WHICH IS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE;
DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT
SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that portions of the street and
easements hereinafter described in the body of this Ordinance are no longer
needed for street and easement purposes and for public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to
close, vacate and abandon the same for street and easement purpose and for
public use; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT those portions of the street and easements as
hereinafter described shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street and easement purposes and for public use, such street and
easement portions are more particularly described as follows:
TRACT ONE
A cul-de-sac portion of 1st Place located in Section 22, Block A,
Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as
follows:
BEGINNING at a point which bears North, a distance of 1277.93 feet
and East a distance of 72.63 feet from the Southwest corner of
Section 22, Block A, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE Southeasterly around a curve to the right, said curve
having a radius of 50.00 feet, a central angle of 263°06'28", a
chord distance of 74.83 feet and a chord bearing of S. 85°22 1 53 11
East, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE N. 85°22'53" W. a distance of 74.83 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.

TRACT TWO
A 5 foot underground utility easement located in Lot 127, Whisper-
wood Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being
further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which bears N. 68°05' 11 11 E. a di stance of
26.10 feet from the original Southwest corner of Lot 127, Whisper-
wood Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE N. 17°51'5211 W. a distance of 5.01 feet;
THENCE N. 68°05 1 11" E. a distance of 96.44 feet;
THENCE Southwesterly around a curve to the right, said curve
having a radius of 165.00 feet, a central angle of 01 °44' 17",
tangent lengths of 2.50 feet, a chord distance of 5.01 feet and
chord bearing of S. 19°20 1 33 11 East, Lubbock, Lubbock County,
Texas;
THENCE S. 68°05'11" W. a distance of 96.57 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
TRACT THREE
A transformer pad easement located in Lot 127, Whisperwood Addi-
tion to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being further
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which bears N. 68°05' 11 11 E. a di stance of
22.08 feet from the original Southwest corner of Lot 127, Whisper-
wood Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE Northwesterly around a curve to the left, said curve having
a radius of 165.00 feet, a central angle of 01°17 1 51 11 , tangent
lengths of 3.01 feet, a chord distance of 6.02 feet, and a chord
bearing of N. 17°48'30" West, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE N. 68°05 1 11 11 E. a distance of 4.01 feet;
THENCE s. 17°51'52" E. a distance of 6.02 feet;
THENCE S. 68°05'11" W. a distance of 4.02 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.

1 SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer 1s hereby authorized and directed to
jmark the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and
!closing, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final

or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any
:1reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.

. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of
this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law.
