File And Return To Ed Bucy R-0-W First Reading April 14, 1994 Item 1/39 Second Reading :June 23, 1994 Item #6 VOL 4612PkG E305 ORDINANCE NO. 9698 AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF RICHMOND A VENUE IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF TinS ORDINANCE; DJRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID I ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. j WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the street portion hereinafter described in the body of this Ordinance is no longer needed for street purposes and for public use; WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for street purposes and for public use; NOW TiffiREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TilE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the street portion as hereinafter described shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street purposes and for public use, being more particularly described as follows: METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION of a portion of Richmond Avenue, to be closed and abandoned, located in Section 17, Block B, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows: BEGINNING at a point which bearsS. 8~54'30" W. 984.00 feet and S. 00°01'20" W. 274.57 feet from the Northeast comer of the Southeast Quarter of Section 17, Block B, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE S. 89°59'10" W. a distance of86.00 feet; THENCE Northeasterly around a curve to the left, said curve having radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of8go57'50", tangent lengths of 14.99 feet and a chord distance of 21.21 feet; TIIENCE N. 00001'20" E. a distance of73.59 feet; THENCE Northeasterly around a cul-de-sac curve to the right, said curve having radius of50.00 feet, a central angle of291°53'18" and a chord distance of 56.00 feet; THENCE S. 00001'20" W. a distance of73 .57 feet to a point of curvature; THENCE Southeasterly around a curve to the left, said curve having a -1- .. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official maps of the City ofLubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4.
