AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCKJI BY REPEALING SECTION To. 9 GOVERNING OFF STREET
PARKING IN 11A-211 DISTRICT; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDIN
FOR P lJB LIC1A TION.
WHEREAS., the City Council finds that after all notices have been given
and hearings held as provided by law, that it is in the best interest of the citizens
of Lubbock to make the change in the zoning law as hereinafter set forth; NOW
THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:

SECTION 1. THAT Section 7b. 9 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the Cit
_of Lubbock, Texas, BE and is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. THAT Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the City of Lubbock,
Texas BE and is hereby amended by adding a new Section 7b. 9 which shall read
as follows:
SECTION 7b. 9
Off-Street Parking -Off-street parking area shall be provided
for any building or structure which may hereafter be erected,
or any structure which is enlarged or converted to any permitted
use. Such parking area shall be on the same lot or tract with
the building or use served and shall be provided on the following
basis:
Day Nurseries -One (1) space for each employee.
Grounds for Games or Sports -Parking for indoor facilities
shall be as provided elsewhere in this section. Parking for
outdoor facilities because of the wide variation in nature and
size, shall be determined by the Zoning Administrator with
the assistance of the Parks and Recreation Department.
Little Theaters and Similar Facilities -One (1) space for
each four (4) seats.
Lodges~ Sororities, and Fraternities -One (1) space for each
three (3} members and pledges.
Private Community Centers -One (1) space for each three
(3) members.
Public and semi-public uses such as, but not limited to;
YMCA" YWCA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Boys' Clubs and
Recreation buildings. -One (1) space for each five hundred
(500) square feet in activity areas such as gymnasium or
:., swimming pool or one (1) space for each five (5) permanent
seats in such areas,. whichever is greater; plus one (1) space
for each one hundred fifty (150) square feet of all other general
purpose floor space.
Schools: Elementary -Two (2) spaces for each three (3)
employees including teachers, administrative and maintenance
personnel.
Junior High School -One (1) space for each employee, including
teachers, administrative and maintenance personnel.
High School -One (1) space for each five (5) students.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any
reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed
to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this OrdinancecB an alternative
method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
