AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF PROPERTY
IN BLOCK 25,.. F. R. FRIENDS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,. LUBBOC
COUNTY,. TEXAS, AS MORE FULLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDI-
NANCE; AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARKJ:THE OFFICIAL MAP
OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CDOSING AND ABANDONMENT .
OF SAID PROPERTY.·
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the portion of the hereinafter descri d
property is not needed for street and alley purposes or for public use; and.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be to the public interest to
close, vacate and abandon the described portion of said property for all purposes
and public use,. NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT a portion of property in Block 25, F. R. Friends
Addition as hereinafter described shall be and the same is hereby closed, vacated
and abandoned for street and alley purposes and for public use; said tract of land
being more particularly described as i::>llows, to-wit:
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot 2, Block 25, .~F. R.
Friend Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West 29. 7 feet to a point in the East line of the City of
Lubbock property;
THENCE North 64. 5 feet to the Southeast right of way line of the
Santa Fe Railway Company;
THENCE North 53° 54r East 36. 8 feet to the Northwest corner of
said Lot 2, Block 25, F. R. Friends Addition;
THENCE South 86. 2 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
mark the Official Map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the portion of propert
as described in Section 1 hereof has been closed and abandoned showing the nwnbe
of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
