ING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO.' 921-A: CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF
SECTION 3, BLOCK E., LUBBOCK COUNTY., TEXAS FROM 11R-3" AND 11R-311
SPECIFIC USE FOR APARTMENT TO AN "R-311 SPECIFIC USE FOR SHOPPING
CENTER ZONING DISTRICT SUBJECT TO CONDITION; AND CHANGING
ANOTHER TRACT OF LAND OUT OF THE SAME SAID SECTION AND BLOCK
TO ALLOW DEVELOPMENT ACCORDING TO A REVlSED SITE PLAN.,
WHEREAS., the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made
has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recom-
mendation, which was received by the City Council and after due consideration,
the City Council finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out
will be :in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS., all conditions precedent r~quired by law for a valid amend-
ment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well
as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well
as notices provided by Article lOllf, Vernon's Annotated Civil. Statutes, amended
in 1961, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Jour-
nal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the
City Council on such proposed amendment., and the public hearing according to
said notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the
City Hall, Lubboc~ Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the
proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Council determ:ined that it
would be in the public int ere st, due to changed conditions., that the Zoning
Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth
in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced prior
to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE
and the same are hereby amended as follows., to .. wit:
ZONE CASE N0-4 : 921--A
Change the following tract of land out of Section 3., Block E, Lubbock
County, Texas from "R-311 and "R ... 3 Specific Use for Apartment11 to
a Specific Use Zoning District for a Shopping Center in accordance
with Section 14;;-A. 1-8 of Zoning Ordinance, said land being described
by metes and bounds as follows, to .. wit:
BEGINNING at a point which is 2137. lBT±. west and 45t+ south of the
Northeast Corner of Section 3, Block E, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West a distance of 445t+ to a point;

THENCE South a distance of 1801:t_ to a point;
THENCE West a distance of 150t:t_ to a point;
THENCE South a distance of 2601+ to a point;
THENCE East a distance of 60 61+ to a point;
THENCE North a distance of 423c+ to the PLACE OF ~GINNING.
SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWIN'G CONDITION:
The property shall be developed according to the site plan heretofore
submitted and on file in ihe office of the Secretary of the Planning and
Zoning Commission.
Change the following tract of land out of Section 3, Block E, Lubbock
County,. Texas by allowing development according to the revised site
plan heretofore submitted and on file in the office of the Secretary
of the Planning and Zoning Commission,. said land being described
by metes and bounds as follows~ to-wit:
BEGIN'NING at a point which is 8001+ west and 45r+ south of the Northeast
Corner of Section 3,. Block E, Lubbock,County, Texas;
THENCE West·a distance of 1337. lBr+ to a point;
THENCE South a distance of 4101+ to a point;
THENCE East a distance of 508r±. to a point;
'l'HENCE South a distance of 993. 5t+ to a point;
THENCE East a distance of 1442.16t+ to a point;
THENCE North a distance of 220. 5t+ to a point in the West right-of-way
line of Avenue Q South Drive;
THENCE Along the West right ... of .. way line of Avenue Q South Drive a
distance of 1381.14'.:t. to the PLACE OF BEGIN'NIN'G.'
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance said lots., tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof
shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended
in accordance herewith.
