ORDINANCE NO. 5030
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THOSE PORTIONS' OF
GLOBE AVENUE. EAST 23RD STREET, EAST 24TH STREET AND THE ALLEYS
IN BLOCKS 42 AND 44a WHEELOCKtS SECOND ADDITION AS SHOWN CLOSED
BY A PLAT ENTITLED 11LOTS 1-7, BLOCK 20 AND LOTS 1-7,. BLOCK 21.1!·
CORONADO ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK~ LUBBOCK COUNTYa TEXA !t
SAVE AND EXCEPT~ HOWEVER,. SUCH EASEMENTS AS ARE INDICATED ON
SAID PLAT; AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS
ORDINANCE; AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL
MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE SAID CLOSING AND ABANDON-
MENT AFORESAID.
WHEREAS~ the City Council finds that the portions of the streets and alley
in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County,. Texas, as hereinafter more particularly
described are no longer needed for street or alley purposes or for public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to close
vacate and abandon same for street and alley purposes and for public use; NOW
THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT those portions of Globe Avenue, East 23rd Street,
East 24th Street and the alleys in Blocks 42 and 44, Wheelock's Second Addition
as shown closed by a plat entitled 11Lots 1 ... 7, Block 20 and Lots 1 .... 7, Block 21~
Coronado Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, 11 save and
except, however, such easements aseare indicated on said plat, shall be and the
same is hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned for street and alley purposes and
for public use•
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
mark the Official Map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the portions of the
streets and alleys as described in Section 1 hereof~ have been closed and abandone
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED ..
