HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 5013-1966 - Amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1695, By Amending Subsection 14-A, 1-9 - 05/12/1966@) ~ J ,IP j✓ l ~ GAS:·c os-2 u-1q CRDINANCE NO.. 5013 ___ ....;;.;;;;.. ___ _ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO.. 1695 BY AMENDING SUBSECTION 14-A. l-9 THEREOF TO AUTHORIZE SPECIFIC USE PERMITS FOR PRIVATE APARTMENT PROJECTS ON SITES HAVING A MINIMUM OF 2 1/2 ACRES OR ONE BLOCK OF STREET FRONTAGE AS MORE FULLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.'; WHEREAS-t it has been proposed and recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission that Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 be amended by amending Sub- section 14-A.1-9 thereof allowing specific use permits for private apartment pro- jects on sites of one' and one-half acres or one block of street frontage, as more particularly described herein; and., WHEREAS., after due consideration of the recommendation as made by the Planning and Zoning Commission, the City Council finds that it will be in the public interest to so modify the existing Zoning Ordinance so as to encourage orderly development of a high character in attractive landscaped surroundings with the design of buildings and exterior indications so controlled as to be compatible with residential development in the vicinity while parmitting an appropriate use of property; and., WHEREAS., all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with., as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices provided by Article 10 llf., Vernon1 s Annotated Civil statutes., amended in 19 61., an notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such proposed amendment., and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall., Lubbock, Texas at which time persons appeared in support of the pvoposal; and.,after said hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest., due to changed conditions., that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Subsection 14-A. 1-9 of Zoning Ordinance No. 169 5 BE and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 14-A. l-9 -Private apartment projects on a minimum site of two and one-half ( 2 1 / 2) acres or on property that has one block of street frontag between streets intersecting ...,:the_· right of way line of the street adjacent to such frontage., in any district. 11 SECTION 2t. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this ordinance said Subsection shall be amended in accordance herewith. ... -,, " " AND IT. IS SO ORDERED.
