AN ORDINANCE AMENPING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF L,UBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1405: CHANGE PORTIONS OF LOTS 8 THRU 12
LYING SOUTH OF THE AT & SF RAILROAD AND ALL OF LOT 13, BLOCK 64,
OVERTON ADDITION, CITY OF LUBBOCK~ LUBBOCK COUNTY~ TEXAS~
FROM AN "M ... i" AND "R ... 2" (LOT 13) TO AN "R ... 3" ZONING D1STRICT;
SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS.'
WHEREAS~ the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made
has been duly presented to the Zoning and Pla.nning Commission for its recom ...
mendation, which was received by the City Council and after due consideration,
the City Council finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will
be in the public interest; and,.
WHEREAS~ all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amend ...
ment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as
giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as
notices provided by Article 1011f, Vernonts Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in
1961, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal
more than fifteen (15) cays prior to the date of the public hearing before the City
Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said
notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall,
Lubbock,. Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and,
after said hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would be in the
public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoni g
Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance
and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written for m prior to first
reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE
and the same are hereby amended as follows~ to .. wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 1405
Change portions of Lots 8 thru 12 lying south of the AT & SF
Railroad and all of Lot 13, Block 64, Overton Addition, City
of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from an "M-1" and
"R ... 211 (Lot 13) to an "R ... 3" Zoning District;
SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
1. Development of the property shall be limited to apartments.
2. A minimum of 1000 square feet of lot area shall be provided
for each apartment unit.
3. A minimum of one .and one ... half paverl.-o'ff ... street parking
spaces shall be provided for each one bedroom unit and
two such s~aces for each apartment unit with two or
more bedrooms.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance, said lots» tracts, and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof
shall be changed to the zoning dist ricts indicated and the Official Map is amended
in accordance herewith.
