HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 4935-1966 - Amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1695, Zone Case No. 1380 - 02/10/1966'RC:jc AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFI- CIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1380: CHANGE THE WEST 12 1/2' OF LOT~" ALL OF LOTS 9, 10, 11 AND 127 BLOCK 5~ ELLWOOD PLACE ADDITION TO AN 11R-3" ZONING DISTRICT; CHANGE THE WEST 1/2 OF LOT 5 AND ALL OF LOT 6., BLOCK 7,. ELLWOOD PLACE ADDITION TOAN "R-311 ZONING DISTRICT; AND CHANGE ALL OF THE PROPERTY NORTH OF 20TH STREET EXTENDING TO THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 7,. AND LOTS 13 THROUGH 19 AND THE WEST 1/2 OF LOT 20 IN BLOCK 5~ ALL IN ELLWOOD PLACE ADDITION TO AN "R-3" ZONING DISTRICT; ALL BEING IN THE CITY OF LUBBOC~ LUBBOCK COUNTY TEXAS"' AND ALL OF WHICH SAID PROPERTY SHALL BE SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS: WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendatio which was received by the City Council and after due consideration, the City Counc finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices provided by Article 1011£., Vernonts Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961., and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest., due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1 .. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 1380 (a) Change the West 12 1 /2t of Lot 8~ all of Lots 9., 101 11 and 121 Block 5, Ellwood Place Addition~ City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from an "R-111 to an ~~R-3 11 Zoning District. (b) Change the West 1/2 of Lot 5 and all of Lot 6, Block 7 ~ Ell- wood Place Addition~ City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas., from an "R-1" to an "R-3" Zoning District., subject to the following conditions 1. That property be developed with apartments only. 2. That 1000 .square feet of lot area be provided for each apartment unit. 3. That 1 1/2 paved off-street parking spaces be provided for each one-bedroom apartment unit and that 2 paved off-street parking spaces be provided for each two-bedroom unit. 4. That the height of all buildings shall not exceed 2 1/2 stories and shall not exceed 351: in height. (c) Change all of the property North of 20th Street extending to the alley in Block 7; and Lots 13 through 19, and the West 1/2 of Lot 20 in Block 5, all in Ellwood Place Addition, City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, }'exas, from an 11R-111 Z.G>ning District to an "R-311 Zoning District(limited to uses permitted in Section 8. 1-1 of Ordinance 169 5 which provides any use unconditionally permitted in any of the foregoing "R Districts" and Section 8. 1-9 of Ordinance 169 5 which provides for "Public Parking Area."
