ORDINANCE NO. 4915 ----~~------------ AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATI~G THAT PORTION OF TENTH STREET FROM VENUE M TO COLLEGE A VENUE AS A ONE-WAY STREET AND PERMITTING ONLY VEHICULAR TRAFFIC PROCEEDING WEST ON SAID PORTION OF SAID TREET; PROVIDING FOR SIGNS TO INDICATE THAT SAID PORTION OF SAID TREET IS ONE-WAY; PRESCRIBING A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC- TION; AND DECLARING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS~ the City Council finds that the immediate preservation of public eace .. property~ health and safety requires that vehicular traffic on Tenth street rom Avenue M to College Avenue should be permitted to proceed only in a West- erly direction as more particularly hereinafter described; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT portion of Tenth street in the City of Lubbock,. Lubbock County, Texas~ from Avenue M to College Avenue is hereby designated a one-way street and only vehicular traffic proceeding West on Tenth Street beginning at its intersection with Avenue M to its intersection with College Avenue shall be per- mitted thereon. SECTION 2. The traffic engineer is hereby authorized and directed to place or cause the placing of the necessary traffic signs to indicate that the portion of Tenth Street described in Section 1 hereof is a one-way street. SECTlON 3. Any person operating a vehicle in violation of the provisions of his Ordinance shall upon conviction b~ fined any sum not to exceed $200. 00. SECTION 4. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of this Ordinance once a week for two consecutive weeks in a news- paper regularly published in the City of Lubbock., Texas~ and this Ordinance shall become effective ten ( 10) days after its last publication.
