AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING 'AND CLOSING A 15-FOOT ALLEY AND
THREE 15-FOOT UTILITY EASEMENTS LOCATED IN HILLCREST COMMUNITY
CENTER ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS,
WI-ITCH ARE MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS
ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF
THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A
SA VIN GS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley and easements as hereinafter described
in the body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for alley and easement purposes and for
public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and
abandon the same for alley and easement purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the alley and easements as hereinafter described shall BE and the
same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley and easement purposes and for public
use, such alley and easements being more particularly described as follows:
TRACT ONE
A 15-foot alley located in Block 4, Hillcrest Community Center Addition to the
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat and/or
dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume 1051, Page 37, Deed Records of
Lubbock County, Texas, and being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point being the Southwest comer of Lot 1, Block 4, Hillcrest
Community Center Addition, as recorded in Volume 1051, Page 3 7, and the
Northwest and beginning comer of this tract;
THENCE N. 89°5815011 E. (platted as East), along the South line of said Lot 1, a
distance of 45.00 feet to a point for the Northeast comer of this tract and the
Southeast comer of said Lot 1;
THENCE S. 00°01 '1011 E. (platted as South), a distance of 15.00 feet to a point for
the Southeast comer of this tract;

THENCE S. 89°58'50" W. (platted as West), a distance of 45.00 feet to a point in
the West line of Block 4;
THENCE N. 00°01 '10" W. (platted as North), along the West line of Block 4, a
distance of 15.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
TRACTTWO
A 15-foot utility easement being the same as that recorded in Volume 858, Page
195, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, and being further described as
follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the North right-of-way line of 34th Street at the
Southeast comer of Lot 3, Block 1, Hillcrest Community Center Addition to the
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, as recorded in Volume 325, Page 552
and rerecorded in Volume 363, Page 462, Deed Records of Lubbock County,
Texas, and the Southwest comer of this tract;
THENCE N. 00°01 '1011 W. (platted as North), along the East lines of Lots 3, 2 and
1, Block 1, Hillcrest Community Center Addition, a distance of 228.30 feet to a
point in the Southeast right-of-way line of Brownfield Highway (U. S. Highway
62-82) for the Northwest comer of this tract;
THENCE N. 53°54'20" E., along said right-of-way line, a distance of 18.56 feet to
a point for the Northeast comer of this tract;
THENCE S. 00°01 '10" E. (platted as South), a distance of 239.24 feet to a point in
the North right-of-way line of 34th Street for the Southeast comer of this tract;
THENCE S. 89°59'30" W. (platted as West), along said right-of-way line, a
distance of 15.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
TRACT THREE
A 15-foot utility easement being a portion of that tract described in Volume 858,
Page 153, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, and being further described
as follows:
BEGINNING at a 1/2" iron rod found at the Southwest comer of Lot 1-A, Block
4, Hillcrest Community Center Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas, as recorded in Volume 3436, Page 254, and the Northeast comer
of this tract;
THENCE S. 00°01 '10" E. (platted as South), along the West line of said Block 4,
at 11.00 feet pass the Southwest comer of said Lot I, continuing for a total
distance of 145.81 feet to a point in the North right-of-way line of 34th Street for
the Southeast comer of this tract;

THENCE S. 89°59'30" W. (platted as West), along said right-of-way line, a
distance of 15 .00 feet to a point for the Southwest comer of this tract;
THENCE N. 00°01'10" W. (platted as North), a distance of 145.81 feet to a point
for the Northwest comer of this tract;
THENCE N. 89°58'50" E. (platted as East), a distance of 15.00 feet to.the POINT
OF BEGINNING.
TRACT FOUR
A 15-foot utility easement being a portion of that recorded in Volume 858, Page
153, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, and being further described as
follows:
BEGINNING at a 1/2" iron rod found at the Southwest comer of Lot 1-A, Block
4, Hillcrest Community Center Addition to the City of Lubbock, , Lubbock
County, Texas, and the Southeast comer of this tract;
THENCE S. 89°58'50" W. (platted as West), a distance of 15.00 feet to a point for
the Southwest comer of this tract;
THENCE N. 00°01 '10" W. (platted as North), a distance of 93.43 feet to a point in
the Southeast right-of-way line of Brownfield Highway (U. S. Highway 62-82)
for the Northwest comer of this tract;
THENCE N. 53°54'20" E., along said right-of way line, a distance of 18.56 feet to
a 1/2" iron rod found at the Northwest comer of said Lot 1-A and the Northeast
comer of this tract;
THENCE S. 00°01'10" E. (platted as South), along the West line of said Lot 1-A,
a distance of 104.36 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the
official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing the
number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of
this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this
Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.

SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and
directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method
provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
