AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF TEAK AVE ...
NUE AND EAST 31ST STREET IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY,
TEXAS, AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS
ORDINANCE; AND DffiECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MAR.K THE OFFICIAL
MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDON""
MENT OF SAID PORTIONS OF TEAK A VENUE AND EAST 31ST STREET AS
AFORESAID •.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that portions of Teak Avenue and East
31st Street as hereinafter more particularly described are no longer needed for
street purposes or for public use; and~
WHEREAS. the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to close,
vacate and abandon same for street purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFO :
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT a portion of Teak Avenue, as hereinafter described,
shall be and the same is hereby closed~ vacated and abandoned for street pur ...
poses and for public use; said tract of land being particularly described as
follows, to .... wit:
TRACT 1.
BEGINNING at the original Northeast corner of Lot 15, Block 16,
of the Second Installment of Sieber Addition to the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE East a distance of 50 feet;
THENCE South a distance of 120 feet;
THENCE West a distance of 50 feet;
THENCE North a distance of 120 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT a portion of East 31st Street, as hereinafter described,
shall be and the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street pur ...
poses and for public use; said tract of land being particularly described as
follows, too;-wit:
TRACT 2.
BEGINNING at the Original Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 18,
of the Second Installment of Sieber Addition to the City of Lubbock.,
Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West a distance of 91. 43 feet;

THENCE North 40° 58t 3211 East a distance of 13. 96 feet to a point
of curvature;
THENCE around a curve to the left having a radius of 76.73 feet,
chord bearing of North 32° osr 5811 East .. and a chord distance of
23. 48 feet;
THENCE.:East a distance of 69.79 feet;
THENCE South a distance of 30.41 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 3. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the portions of the
streets as described in Sections 1 and 2 hereof, have been closed and abandoned,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
