AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE SOUTH HALF OF
EAST 21ST STREET FROM THE' EAST LINE OF DATE AVENUE TO THE WEST
LINE OF THE NORTH .. SOUTH ALLEY BETWEEN DATE AND ELM AVENUE~ AS
DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND Dffi-ECTING THE CITY
ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO
INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF SAID STREETS AND ALLEY
WHEREAS,. the City Council finds that the portion of East 21st Street as
hereinafter more particularly described is no longer needed for street purposes
or for public use; and,
WHEREAS,. the City Council finds it would be to the public benefit to
close, vacate and abandon the same for street purposes and to the public use,
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT a portion of East 21st Street, as hereinafter describe
shall be and the same is here by closed, vacated and abandoned for street purpose
and for public use; said tract of land being more particularly described as
follows, to ... wit:
The South half of East 21st Street from the East line of Date
Avenue to the West line of the North.,..South alley between • Date and Elm Avenue.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed
to mark the Official Map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the portion of
the street, avenue and alley as described in Section 1 hereof has been closed and
abandoned showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
