AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCES 772. 841~ 867, 871~ 1028,
877, 878, 1031~ 881~ 903, 940, 957, 975, 972, 1004, 1018, 1020, 1055, 1091,
1109, 1121, 1122~ 1160~ 1169~ 1212, 1413, 1226, 1236~ 1239, 1278, 1290~
1294, 1308~ 1328. 1334, 1361~ 1406. 1414. 1427~ 1428. 1433, 1437, 1445~ 1464,
1465, 1352, ~477~ 1509, 1492, 1499, 1523, 1559, 1666, 1667, 1775, 1808,
and 3986, AS AMENDED; AUTHORIZING THE REMOVAL OF PAR.KING
METERS AT LOCATIONS DESIGNATED IN ABOVE ORDINANCES~ AS AMENDED
AUTHORIZING THE LOCATIONS DESIGNATED IN SAID ORDINANCES~ AS
AMENDED~ TO BE TWO HOUR TIME LIMIT ZONES BETWEEN THE HOURS
OF 8 AM AND 5 PM; AUTHORIZING THE PLACING OF TWO HOUR TIME LIMIT
SIGNS WITHIN THE DESIGNATED LOCATIONS; PROVIDING A RESERVATION
CLAUSE AS TO EXISTING COMPLAINTS IN CORPORATION COURT; PROVIDING
A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EMERGENCY.
WHER-EAS, the City Council believes it to be in the public interest to
repeal the above Ordinance which aifects the usual daily operation of a municipal
department and thereby creates an emergency; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinances 772, 841, 867, 1028~ 871 .. 877, 878, 1031 ~ 881~ 903, 940, 957, 972, 975, 1004, 1018, 1020, 1055, 1091~ 1109, 1121, 1122,
1160, 1169~ 1212~ 1413~ 1226, 1236, 1239, 1278, 1290, 1294 .. 1308, 1328, 1334,
1361 .. 1406, 1414, 1427, 1428, 1433, 1437, 1445, 1464, 1465, 1352, 1477, 1509,
1492, 1499, 1523, 1559, 1666, 1667• 1775, 1808 and 3986 BE and the same are
here by repealed.
SECTION 2. THAT the Traffic Engineer BE~ and he is hereby authorized
and directed to cause due removal of the parking meters at the locations designat
in the Ordinances listed in Section 1~ after all money contained in the meters has
been duly checked and accounted for.
SECTION 3. THAT at the locations designated in the Ordinances listed in
Section 1 of this Ordinance., there shall be erected signs designating the location
as two hour limited parldng zones and no vehicle shall remain parked:;.within,any
spaces within such zones for a longer continuous period than two hours at any
time between the hours of eight (8) otclock AM and five (5) otcl.ock PM on any day,
except Sunday and holidays officially designated in Chapter 2, Article I1 Section
2~11 of the Code of Ordinances., City of Lubbock.. Texas.
SECTION 4. THAT the enactment of this Ordinance amending the
Ordinances listed in Section 1., as amended~ shall in no way affect tickets issued
or complaints filed before March 15 .. 1965.
SECTION 5. THAT any person who .... shall suffer or permit any vehicle
registered in his name or any vehicle owned or operated or in his charge or
control to be parked or left standing in violation o:( the terms of this Ordinance
shall,.. upon conviction.9 be fined in any sum not exceeding TWO HUNDRED AND
N0'/100 ($2-00. 00) DOLLARS.

SECTION 6. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause
publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance~ together with the
penalty clause~ as an alternative method provided by law ..
SECTION 7. SINCE this Ordinance is an emergency measure for the
reasons set forth in the preamble hereof6 the rule requiring two readings before
final passage is hereby suspended~ and this Ordinance shall take effect
immediately after its passage.
