ORDINANCE NO. I 0021
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION 26-22(b)(2) OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, WITH REGARD TO
ALLOCATION OF HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX REVENUES; PROVIDING A
SA VIN GS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock deems it to be in the best
interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock to amend Subsection 26-22(b) (2) of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Lubbock with regard to the allocation of hotel
occupancy tax revenues; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Subsection 26-22(b)(2) of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Lubbock, Texas, be amended to read as follows:
(2) The funds received from the tax levied, under subsection (a) shall be
distributed as follows:

Upon expiration of civic center renovation debt, funds will be used to pay debt on
the preservation and restoration of Ft. Worth & Denver Depot. Upon expiration of
Ft. Worth & Denver Depot debt. funds will continue to be used to offset museum
marketing. State law allows for up to 15 % of tax collected used for arts related
projects and 15% of tax collected for historic preservation, restoration projects or
promotions to encourage tourist and convention delegates to visit preserved
historic sites or museums.
SECTION 2. THAT should any paragraph, section, sentence, clause, phrase of
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby .

SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause
• publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method of
publication provided by law .
