ORDINANCE NO. 10122
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF A VENUE
Q RIGHT-OF-WAY RECORDED IN VOLUME 536, PAGE 42, DEED RECORDS OF
LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS LOCATED IN SECTION 10, BLOCK B, LUBBOCK
COUNTY TEXAS, AND A PORTION OF AN ALLEY DEDICATION RECORDED IN
VOLUME 449, PAGE 114 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF LUBBOCK COUNTY,
TEXAS LOCATED IN TRACT 10 OF THE STUBBS SUBDMSION TO THE CITY
OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULAR!.. Y
DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY
ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID
ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the street and alley portions
hereinafter described in the body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for street and
alley purposes and public use and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and
abandon the same~ NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the street and alley portions as hereinafter described shall
BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street and alley purposes
and for public use, such street and alley portions being more particularly described as
follows:
TRACT l
A portion of Avenue Q right-of-way, recorded in Volume 536, Page 42, Deed
Records ofLubbock County, Texas, to be closed, located in Section 10, Block B,
Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point at the Northeast comer of this tract which bears South
00°56' West a distance of 50.00 feet from the Southwest comer of Lot 1,
McDonald Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to
the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume 628, Page 491,
Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas and bears South 480.00 feet and West
633.10 feet from the Northeast comer of Section 10, Block B, Lubbock County,
Texas;
THENCE South 00°56' West a distance of38.0S feet to a point for the Southeast
comer of this tract;
THENCE West a distance of 15.00 feet to a point in the East right-of-way line of
Avenue Q, for the Southwest comer of this tract; I A/If

Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point at the Northeast comer of this tract which bears South
00°56' West a distance of50.00 feet from the Southwest comer ofLot 1,
McDonald Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to
the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume 628, Page 491,
Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas and bears South 480.00 feet and West
633.10 feet from the Northeast comer of Section 10, Block B, Lubbock County,
Texas;
THENCE South 00°56' West a distance of38.05 feet to a point for the Southeast
comer of this tract;
THENCE West a distance of 15.00 feet to a point in the East right-of-way line of
Avenue Q, for the Southwest comer of this tract;
THENCE North 00°56• East, along said East right-of-way line of Avenue Q, a
distance of 3 8. 05 feet to a point for the Northwest comer of this tract, from
whence a cross on concrete set for the Northeast comer of proposed Lot A,
Stubbs Subdivision, bears North 00°561 East a distance of50.00 feet;
THENCE East a distance of 15.00 feet to the Point ofBeginning.
A portion of an alley dedication recorded in Volume 449, Page 114 of the Deed
Records ofLubbock County, Texas, to be closed, said alley is located in Tract 10
of the Stubbs Subdivision, an Addition to the City ofLubbock, Lubbock County,
Texas, according to the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in
Volume 295, Page 360 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas and being
further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which bears West, 105.00 feet and South, 150.00 feet
from the Northeast comer of said Tract 10, Stubbs Subdivision, same point being
the Southeast comer of said alley;
THENCE West, along the South line of said alley description, a distance of7.50
feet to a point which is the Southwest comer of said alley;
THENCE North, along the West line of said alley description, a distance of 50.00
feet to a point which is the Northwest comer of said tract;
THENCE East, a distance of7.50 feet to the Place ofBeginning.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City ofLubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing
the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City ofLubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as
an alternative method provided by law.
