WHEREAS, the City Council finds that portion of the alleys, streets, and
easements hereinafter described in the body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for
alley, street, and easement purposes and for public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close,
vacate and abandon the same for alley, street, and easement purposes and for public use;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT those portions of the alleys, streets, and easement as
hereinafter as hereinafter described shall BE and the same is hereby closed, vacated and
abandoned for alley, street, and easement purposes and for public use, such easement
portions are more particularly described as follows: ·

Westhaven Addition and the Northeast of a 12.5 foot wide alley in Block 2 of
Westhaven Addition to the City of Lubbock as recorded in Volume 91, Page 552
of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, same point being in the West
right-of-way line of Geneva Avenue;
TIIENCE South bounded on the East by West right-of-way line of said Geneva
Avenue, a distance of 12.5 feet to a point which is the original Northeast comer of

comer of said alley;

SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing
the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City ofLubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as
an alternative method provided by law.
