AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING AIL ALLEYS IN THE
TEW SUBDMSION OF THE ROBERTS AND MCWHORTER ADDmON TO THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK, A PORTION OF 2ND PLACE EAST OF UNIVERSITY
A VENUE ADJACENT TO BLOCKS 1 AND 4, PERKINS SUBDMSION OF THE
_ ROBERTS AND MCWHORTER ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, A
PORTION OF SECOND STREET EAST OF UNIVERSITY A VENUE ADJACENT TO
THE TEW SUBDMSION OF THE ROBERTS AND MCWHORTER ADDmON TO
THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, A PORTION OF AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY AND
GARBAGE SERVICE EASEMENT LOCATED IN TRACT" A" BELL DAIRY
ADDmON TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, AND AN ALLEY BETWEEN LOTS 7
AND 18, BLOCK 1, PERKINS SUBDMSION OF THE ROBERTS AND
MCWHORTER ADDmON TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, EACH
OF WinCH IS MORE PARTICULARL YDESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS
ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL
MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING,
PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBUCATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that portion of the alleys, streets, and easement
hereinafter described in the body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for alley, street,
and easement purposes and for public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close,
vacate and abandon the same for alley, street, and easement purposes and for public use;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT those portions of the alleys, streets, and easement as
hereinafter as hereinafter described shall BE and the same is hereby closed, vacated and
abandoned for alley, street, and easement purposes and for public use, such alley, street,
. and easement portions are more particularly described as follows:

Roberts and McWhorter Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County,
Texas, according to the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in
Volume 380, Page 441, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, and being
further described as follows:

BEING ALL of those alleys dedicated within the plat limits of the Tew
Subdivision of the Roberts and McWhorter Addition to the City ofLubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat, and/or dedication deed
thereof recorded in Volume 380, Page 441, Deed Records ofLubbock County,
Texas, and situated between 2-M Street, Avenue "X', and the Seagraves,
Whiteface, & Lubbock Railroad.

and the East right-of-way line ofUniversity Avenue at the Southwest comer of
Tract "N', Bell Dairy Addition to the City ofLubbock, Lubbock County, Texas,
according to the map/plat, and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume

SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City ofLubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing
the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City ofLubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as
an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
