ORDlliANCE NO.~ 4544
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE NORTH-SOUTH
ALLEY IN BLOCK 26, WHEELOCK'S SECOND ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRI-
BED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND DIRICTlNG THE CITY ENGINEE
TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE
CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF SAID ALLEY AS AFORESAID.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the North-South alley in Block 26,
Wheelock's Second Addition to the City of Lubbock as hereinafter more particular y
described is no longer needed for alley purposes or for public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to clos ,
vacate and abandon same for alley purposes and to public use; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the alley as hereinafter described shall be and the sa e
is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use;
said tract of land being particularly described as follows, to-wit:
BEGINNING at the Northeast Corner of Lot 1, Block 26, Whee-
lock's Second Addition to the City of Lubboc:B;;
THENCE South along the East lines of Lots 1, 2, 3., 4, 5, and
6, the same being the West line of said alley, a distance of 300
feet to the Southeast Corner of Lot 6, of said Block 26;
THENCE East along an extension of the North line of East 26th
Street a distance of 20 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 7,
of said Block 26;
THENCE North along the West line of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and
12 of said Block 26, the same being the East line of said alley,
a distance of 300 feet to the Northwest Corner of Lot 12, of said
Block 26;
THENCE West along an extension of the• South line of East 25th
Street a distance of 20 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed t
mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the portion of the all
as described in Section 1 hereof, has been closed and abandoned, showing the
number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
