,r'~ AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF EAST 25TH JY STREET FROM THE EAST LINE OF DATE TO THE WEST LINE OF ELM IN THE

DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND DIRECTING THE CITY
ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO
INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF SAID PORTIONS OF EAST
25TH STREET AS AFORESAID.
WHEREAS# the City Council finds that portions of East 25th Street as herein-
after more particularly described are no longer needed for street purposes or for
public use; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to close,
vacate and abandon same for street purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT portions of East 25th Street~ as hereinafter described
shall be and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street purpose~
and for public use; said tracts of land being particularly described as follows, to-w ~.:
TRACT 1.
BEGINNING at the Southwest Corner of Block 27, Wheelockts
Second Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE East along the South line of said Block 27, the same
being the North line of East 25th Street a distance of 300 feet
to the Southeast Corner of said Block 27;
THENCE South along an extension of the West line of Elm Avenue
a distance of 25 feet to its intersection with the Center Line of
East 25th Street;
THENCE West along said Center Line of East 25th Street a
distance of 300 feet to its intersection with an extension of the
East Line of Date Avenue;
THENCE North along said extension of the East Line of Date
Avenue a distance of 25 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
TRACT 2.
BEGINNING at the Northwest Corner of Block 26, Wheelockrs
Second Addit ion to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE East along the North Line of said Block 26, the same
being the South Line of East 25th Street, a distance of 300 feet
to the Northeast Corner of said Block 26; ·
THENCE North along an extension of the West Line of Elm Avenue
a distance of 25 feet to its intersection with the Center Line of
East 25th Street;
THENCE West along said Center Line of East 25th Street a distance
of 300 feet to its intersection with an extension of the East Line
of Date Avenue;
THENCE South along said extension of the East Line of Date Avenue
a distance of 25 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed t o
ark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the portions of the
treet as described in Section 1 hereof, have been closed and abandoned, showing
e number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
