ORDINANCE NO. 10052
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF 66TH
STREET LOCATED IN SECTION 36, BLOCK AK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS,
AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF TillS ORDINANCE;
DIRE~TING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE
CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the street portions hereinafter described in
the body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for street purposes and public use and it
would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same; NOW
THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the street portions as hereinafter described shall BE and the
same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street purposes and for public use,
such street portions being more particularly described as follows:
TRACT ONE
BEGINNING at a 112" iron rod with cap found at the Southwest comer of
proposed Lot 12, Spur 327 Business Park, an Addition to the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas, which bears N. 89°59' W. a distance of980.02 feet and
North a distance of32.00 feet from the Southeast comer of Section 36, Block AK,
Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE North a distance of8.00 feet to a point;
THENCE S. 89°59' E. a distance of248.26 feet to a point on a curve in the West
right-of-way line of Genoa Avenue;
THENCE Southwesterly around a curve to the right, said curve having a radius of
15.00 feet, a central angle of62°10'55", tangent lengths of9.05 feet and a chord
distance of 15.49 feet to a 5/8" iron rod with cap found at a point of tangency;
THENCE N. 89°59' W. a distance of235.00 feet to the Point ofBeginning, and
containing 1,955 square feet.

BEGINNING at a 112" iron rod with cap found at the Southeast comer of
proposed Lot 13, Spur 327 Business Park, an Addition to the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas, which bears N. 89°59' W. a distance of 1,040.02 feet and
North a distance of32.00 feet from the Southeast comer of Section 36, Block AK,
Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE N. 89°59' W. a distance of330.05 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap found
at the Southwest comer of this tract and the Southwest comer of said proposed
Lot 13;
THENCE North a distance of8.00 feet to a point;
THENCE S. 89°59' E. a distance of330.05 feet to a point;
THENCE South a distance of8.00 feet to the Point ofBeginning, and containing
2,640 square feet.
TRACT THREE
BEGINNING at a point which bears N. 00°00'30" E. a distance of32.00 feet and
N. 89°59' W. a distance of 1,115.00 feet from the Southeast comer of Section 36,
Block A-K, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE N. 89°59' W. a distance of90.00 feet;
THENCE Northeasterly around a curve to the left, said curve having a radius of
15.00 feet, a central angle of90°01', tangent lengths of 15.00 feet, and a chord
distance of21.22 feet;
THENCE S. 89°59' E. a distance of60.00 feet;
THENCE Southeasterly around a curve to the left, said curve having a radius of
15.00 feet, a central angle of89°59', tangent lengths of 15.00 feet, and a chord
distance of21.21 feet to the Point ofBeginning, and containing 0.023 acre.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing
the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.

SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City ofLubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as
an alternative method provided by law.
