ORDINANCE NO. __ 1_0_16_6 __
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF A
TEMPORARY UNDERGROUND UTILITY LINE EASEMENT AND A
TEMPORARY SWITCH ENCLOSURE AND TRANSFORMER PAD EASEMENT
LOCATED IN SECTION 36, BLOCK A-K, AND ADJACENT TO TRACT "A"
WOMBLE ADDITION, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE
PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE;
DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE
CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the easements as hereinafter described in
the body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for easement purposes and for public
use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close,
vacate and abandon the same for easement purposes and for public use; NOW
THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
_SECTION 1. THAT those portions of the easements as hereinafter described
shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for easement purposes
and for public use, such easements being more particularly described as follows:
TRACT 1
A temporary underground utility easement located in Section 36, Block E-2,
Lubbock County, Texas, and adjacent to Tract "A" Womble Addition to the City
of Lubbock, also being that easement described in Volume 4222, Page 167, Deed
Records of Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the existing North R.O.W.line of Spur 327. Same
point bears North 89°53'48" West, a distance of 160.00 feet from the existing far
Southwest comer ofTract "A", Womble Addition to the City of Lubbock;
THENCE North 89°53'48" West, along the existing North R.O.W.line of Spur
327, a distance of 150.00 feet to a point;
THENCE North 00°06'28" East, a distance of 410.00 feet to a point;
THENCE South 89°53'48" East, a distance of 130.00 feet to a point on the West
line of an existing 20.00 foot underground utility easement previously dedicated
in Volume 2904, Pages 37-40;

THENCE South 00°06'28" West, along the West line of existing 20.00 foot
underground utility easement a distance of 10.00 feet to a point;
THENCE South 89°53'48" East, a distance of20.00 feet to a point on the East line
ofthe existing 20.00 foot underground utility easement previously dedicated in
Volume 2904, Pages 37-40. Same point is also an existing comer of Tract "A",
Womble Addition;
THENCE South 00°06'28" West, a distance oflO.OO feet to a point;
THENCE North 89°53'48" West, a distance of 130.00 feet to a point;
THENCE South 00°06'28" West, a distance of370.00 feet to a point;
THENCE South 89°53'48" East, a distance of 130.00 feet to a point;
THENCE South 00°06'28" West, a distance of20.00 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
TRACT2
A temporary switch enclosure and transformer pad easement located in Section
36, Block A-K, Lubbock County, Texas, and adjacent to Tract "A" Womble Addition to
the City of Lubbock, also being that easement described in Volume 4222, Page 170, Deed
Records of Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which bears N. 89°53'48" West, a distance of290.00 feet
and North 00°05'28" East, a distance of20.00 feet from the existing far Southwest
comer of Tract "A", Womble Addition to the City of Lubbock;
THENCE North 00°06'28" East, a distance of 6.00 feet to a point;
THENCE South 89°53'48" East, a distance of 6.00 feet to a point;
THENCE South 00°06'28" West, a distance of6.00 feet to a point;
THENCE North 89°53'48" West, a distance of 6.00 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.

SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication ofthe descriptive caption of this Ordinance
as an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
