ORDINANCE NO. 10165
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF 44TH STREET
LOCATED IN SECTION 16, BLOCK B, LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS,
AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE;
DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE
CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSINO; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICA TON.
WHEREAS, the City Council flnds that the street portions as hereinafter
described in the body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for street purposes and
public use and
WHEREAS, the City Council flnds it would be in the public interest to close,
vacate and abandon the same for street purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the street portions as hereinafter described shall BE and the
same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street purposes and for public use,
and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the North right-of-way line of 44th Street and the West
right-of-way line of Louisville Avenue which is the original Southeast comer of
Lot 16, Block 23, Sunny Hill Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County,
Texas;
THENCE South, along said West right-of-way line, a distance of65.00 feet to a
point in the South right-of-way line of 44lh Street;
THENCE Northwesterly, along said South right-of-way line around a curve to the
left, said curve having a radius of 15.00 feet, a central angle of90", tangent
lengths ofl5.00 feet and a chord distance of21.21 feet to a point of tangency in
said South right-of-way;
THENCE West, along said South right-of-way line, a distance of370.25 feet to a
point;
THENCE Northeasterly, around a curve to the left, said curve having a radius of
65.00 feet, a central angle of76°39'27", tangent lengths of 51.39 feet and a chord
distance of 80.62 feet to a point of intersection in the North right-of-way line of
441h Street;
THENCE East, along said North right-of-way line, a distance of 33 LOO feet to the
POINT OF BEGINNING.

SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance
as an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
