HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 10155-1999 - Closing A Portion Of Alley In Section 2 Block E - 04/08/1999First Reading Item Ro. 19 April 8,. 1999 File And Return To Ed Bucy R-0-W :1701-3 Second Reading Item Ro. 17 April 22,. 1999 ORDINANCE NO. 10155 AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF AN ALLEY LOCATED IN SECTION 2, BLOCK E, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICAITON. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley portions as hereinafter described in the body of this Ordinance is no longer needed for alley putposes and for public use, and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the alley portions as hereinafter described shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use, such alley portions being more particularly described as follows: METES AND BOUNDS description of a 20 foot alley to be closed and abandoned located in Section 2, Block E, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows: BEGINNING at a Yz" rod with cap set in the North right-of-way line of 66th Street which bears N. 87°4tt40" W. a distance of2321.07 feet and N. 02"18'20" E. a distance of 45.00 feet from the Southeast comer of Section 2, Block E, Lubbock County, Texas: THENCE S. 71°21'40" W., along said North right-of-way line, a distance of21.17 feet to a Yz" rod with cap set in the East right-of-way line of Interstate Highway No. 27; THENCE N. 02°20'14" E., along said East right-of-way line, a distance of 197.85 feet to a W' rod with cap set for a point of intersection; THENCE N. 22°05'15" E., along said East right-of-way line, at 110.80 feet pass an "X" cut in concrete for the Southeast comer of Lot 13F, Willona Village Addition to the City of Lubbock, continuing for a total distance of 572.37 feet to a 5/8" rod found in the South right-of-way line of Slaton Highway (U.S. Highway No. 84) at the Northeast comer of Lot 12, Willona Village Addition; THENCE S. 73°51'59" E., along said South right-of-way line, a distance of 20.04 feet to a Yz" rod with cap set; ViJl 6275PAii[ 15 TI:IENCE S. 22"06'34" W. a distance of S10.S2 feet to a Yz" rod with cap set for a point of intersection; TI:IENCE S. 02"22'21" W. a distance of 187.31 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECfiON 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption ofthis Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law.
