ORDINANCE NO. 2001-00086
AN ORDINANCE MAKING CHANGES IN THE FY2001-2002 BUDGET OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK FOR GOVERNMENTAL PURPOSES AND TO MEET
EMERGENCY CONDITIONS CREATED BY THE TERRORISTS ATTACKS.
WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas
authorizes City Councils to make changes in budgets for municipal purposes; and
WHEREAS, Section 102.009 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas
authorizes City Councils to make amendments to budgets in the case of grave public
necessity to meet an unusual and unforeseen condition, such as the terrorist attacks of
September 11, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the budget for municipal
purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the City Manager of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and
directed to make the following changes to the City of Lubbock Budget for municipal
purposes and to respond to emergency conditions created by the terrorist attacks:
the Revenue and Expenditures in the Airport Fund will be changed to account
for the addition of four security positions. The Airport currently has a total of
48 full time employees. This will increase the total to 52. The increase in
Terminal Area revenues to cover the increased payroll expenditures will be
funded by the airlines.
SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to
this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock County as
required by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
