HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2001-O0078 - Amending Chapter 28 Sec 28-52 And 28-53 - 08/30/2001First Reading August 30, 2001 Item No. 67 Second Reading September 13, 2001 Item No. 36 ORDINANCE NO. 2001--00078 ---------- AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 28 OF 'fHE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 28-52 AND 28-53 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK BY REVISING WATER RATES AS CONTAINED THEREI N; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock to adjust water rates within the City of Lubbock to reflect the cost of service; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION l: THAT Section 28-52 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Lubbock, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 28-52.Basc Rate. Tl·IA T Section 28-53 of the Code of Ordinances. City of Lubbock. Texas. is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 28-53. Rates Gencrnlly. The City Council further ratifies, approves and confim1s such written notice and the contents of posting thereof. SECTION 4: THAT should any paragraph, sentence. clause. phrase, or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
