AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE 4310 BEING SEC
TION 10. 6 OF VOLUME 1 OF THE LUBBOCK CITY CODE CORRECTING CONFLI
BETWEEN THE VOTING PLACE IN VOTING PRECINCT 1 AND THE CITY OF

r)f ?--WHEREAS,. it has been called to the attention of the City Council that in Sec ·on
1 of Ordinance 4310 designating the voting place of Precinct 1 as Fire Station No.
1 there is a conflict with the City of Lubbock Voting Precinct Map.!' revised Januar
1964 in that the designated place should be the Lubbock County Court House (Old)
as shown in said map as published; and,
WHEREAS, this conflict may create confusion in the elections to be held in
the City of Lubbock and is calculated to effect the welfare of the citizens of the Cit
of Lubbock thereby creating it an emergency; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Section 1 of Ordinance 4310 and being Section 10. 6 of
Volume 1 of the Lubbock City Code be amended to provide that the voting place in
Voting Precinct No. 1 which now reads as "Fire Station No. 111 be and shall here ...
after read as "Lubbock County Court House (Old)".
SECTION 2. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to publi
this Ordinance once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper regularly
published in the City of Lubbock.
SECTION 3. Since the emergency exists as described in the preamble of
this Ordinance, this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure an
the rule requiring that Ordinance be passed after two {2} readings is hereby suspen ed
and this Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
