ORDINANCE NO,. 4310
AN ORDINANCE REVISING., MODIFYING~ AND MAKING ADDITIONS TO
THE VOTING PRECINCTS OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK AND PROVIDING FOR
A NEWnCITY OF LUBBOCK VOTING PRECINCTS MAP~ REVISED JANUARY~
1AA~;11 PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
AND PRESCRIBING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS. the City Council finds that due to the growth of population
in the City of Lubbock, that the voting precincts of the City of Lubbock are in
need of revision, modification~ and new precincts need to be added; and,
WHEREAS~ the property, lives, and safety of the citizens of the City of
Lubbock and the operations of various departments of the City demands the adop·
tion of a revised precinct voting map to effect such revisions, modifications, anc
additions in'.voting precincts; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Section 10-6 of Volume I of the Lubbock City Code
is hereby amended to read hereafter, as follows:
"All general and special elections of the City of Lubbock
shall be held at the following voting places, which shall be
the voting places for the voting precincts herein established
as follows: 11

VOTING precincts one (1) through eighteen (18) inclusive are hereby
delineated on the map denominated "City of Lubbock Voting Precincts, Revised
January, 1964". A copy of said map is hereby attached to and made a part
hereof as' though fully copied in detail. An original copy of said map shall be
kept in the office of the City Secretary and shall be open to public inspectionl'
and at each special and general City election, a true copy of said map shall
be furnished by the City Secretary to each of the presiding judges of each voting
precinct in said election.
THE voting precincts and voting places as established by this Ordinance
are a revision of voting precincts of the City of Lubbock and are substituted in
lieu and in place of the voting precincts and voting places as previously estab-
lished by Section 10-6 of the Lubbock City Code.
ALL City elections shall be held and the polls shall be opened from 7:00
a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and all electors shall vote in the voting precinct of their res
dence.
SECTION 2. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this Ordinance once a week for two ,(2} consecutive weeks in a newspaper
regularly published in the City of Lubbock.
SECTION 3. Since the emergency exists as described in the preamble of
this Ordinance, this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure
and the rule requiring that Ordinance be passed after two (2) readings is hereby
suspended, and this Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
