HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2024-R0339 - Citizen Advisory Committee Final Report For Street Roadway Construction & Repair - 08/07/2024Resolution No. 2024-R0339 Item No. 2.1 August 7, 2024 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on July 2, 2024 the City Council of the City of Lubbock (the "City Council") created a 13-member Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) through Resolution No. 2024- R0304, to study and to make recommendations concerning street needs within the City of Lubbock (the "City"); and WHEREAS, the City Council determined the CAC should promptly and thoroughly study the need for street and roadway construction and repairs within the City, and make a report, including recommendations, to the City Council in such form and depth as to identify specific construction and repair projects most needed by the City. The CAC also was directed to consider and recommend appropriate funding mechanisms to accomplish said projects, including but not limited to general obligation bonds to be approved by the citizens of Lubbock at an election; and WHEREAS, the CAC did convene beginning on July 12, 2024 and met regularly through July 25, 2024, and at its final meeting, the CAC adopted final recommendations. Said recommendations are set forth in the report, attached as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein; and NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the report of the Citizen Advisory Committee and the recommendations therein are hereby received by the City Council.
