AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1112: CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED
ON THE SO"UTH SIDE OF 50TH STREET BETWEEN GARY AND INDIANA AVENU
FROM AN "R-1" TO AN "R-3" ZONING DISTRICT; SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS•
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made
has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommen
tion,. which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration,. the
City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will
be in the public interest; and.
WHEREAS,. all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendmen
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 1011£,. Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953,.
and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more
than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Com-
mission on such proposed amendment,. and the public hearing according to said I
notice was duly held in the City Commission Room oft the second floor of the City
Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal;
and,. after said hearing,. it was by the City Commission determined that it would
be in the public interest,. due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and
the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of
this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form
prior to first reading hereof; NOW. THEREFOR.Ea
BE IT ORDIANED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE
and the same are hereby amended as follows,. to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 1112
Change a tract of land located on the South side of 50th Street
between Gary and Indiana Avenues,. being further described by
metes and bounds to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point Sopth 75t and East 55r of the Northwest
Corner of Section 7, Block E-2,. Lubbock County,. Texas;
THENCE East 1242.511 to a point in the West R-0-W line of
Gary Avenue;
THENCE in a Southeasterly direction in said Gary Avenue R-0-W
line a distance of 270t more or less to a point;
THENCE West 672' more or less to a poi~t;

THENCE South 56° 30' West 268' more or less to a point;
THENCE West 360' more or less to a point in the East line of
Indiana Avenue; ·
THENCE in the East line of Indiana Avenue North 417' to the
PLACE OF BEGINNING.
from "R -1" to "R-3" zoning district#
SUBJE<T TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
1. That apartments only be constructed on the property.
2. That 1500 square feet of lot area be provided for each apartment
unit.
3. That 1 1 I 2 paved off-street parking spaces be provided per dwelling
unit.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance, said lots~ tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall
be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in
accordance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
