AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF EAST 23RD
~TREET BEGINNING AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF LOT 16~ BLOCK 35~

f S hereinafter more particularly described is no longer needed for street purposes
or for public use; and~
WHEREAS. the City Commission finds it would be to the public interest to
plose.-vacate and abandon same for street purposes and to public use; NOW THERE
tFOREa I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT a portwn of East 23rd street, as hereinafter describe
shall BE and the same is hereby closed., vacated and abandoned for street purposes
b.nd for public use; said tract of land being particularly described as follows.1 to-wit.
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Lot 16" Block 35., Wheelock1 s
Second Addition;
THENCE North 12. 5 feet;
THENCE East 140 feet;
THENCE South 12.5 feet;
THENCE West 140 feet to the point of BEGINNING•
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
mark the official map6)f the City of Lubbock to indicate that the portion of Street as
described in Section 1 hereof~ has been closed and abandoneda showing the number
of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
~ AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
