AN ORDINANCE AMENDlNG THE FIRE ZONING MAP OF THE CtrY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO
PLACE PROPERTY CHANGED ~ ZONING . CLASSIFICATION (ZONE CASE NO. 872 )

WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that in all zone changes to the "C" Zone
Classifications that such property should be placed in Fire Zone No. 2 i.mm.edi-
ately to protect the lives, safety, and property of the citizens of the City of
Lubbock, which creates an emergency; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CTIY OOMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCl\:
SEcriON 1. THAT The following described property changed in zone by ORDI-
NANCE NO. 36~ , to-liit:
Being a part of the southwest 1/4 of Section 3, Block A, Lubbock
Co\Ulty, Texas, described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a large irm pipe at the northeast comer of the
southwest 1/4 of Section 3, Block A;
THENCE south 89° 45 t w·est, along the north line of said southwest
1/4 of Section 31 BJiock A, and the north line of the original J. L.
Edwards Tract, at 46.3 feet past a point in the present northwesterly
right-of~way line of u. s. Highliays Nos. 62 and 82, in all 499.5
feet to a point in the north line of the southwest 1/4 of Section 3 1 Blo<:k A, and the north line of the original J. L. Edwards Tract, a
comer of the newly acquired right-of-way for u. s. Highways Nos.
62 and 821 the northeast and beginning comer of this tract;
THENCE south 89° 45 t west, along the north line of the southwest 1/4
of Secti011 3, Block A, and the north line of the original J. L.
Edwards Tract, 1150.5 feet to a point, the original northwest-comer
of the said J. L. Edwards Tract, and the northwest corner of this tract;

Edwards Tract, 340.0 feet to a point in the north line of the present
right-of-way of u. s. Highways Nos. 62 and 82, the southeast corner of
this tract;
THENCE south 83° 19' east, along the north right-of-way line of the
present u. s. Highways Nos. 62 and 821 about 365 feet to a point at
the southwest comer of the newly acquired right-of-way for u. s.
Highways Nos. 62 and 821 a comer of this tract;
THENCE northeasterly arotmd a circular curve to the left which has
a radius of 919.9 feet, and along the northwest right-of-way lille
of said newly acquired right-of-way for u. s. Highways Nos. 62 and
82, a distance of 770.7 feet to the end of the curve., a comer of
said newly acquired right-of-way., and a comer of this tract;
THENCE north 48° 41' east, along the northwest line of said newly
acquired right-of-way, 11l.6 feet to a point, a comer of said
newly acquired righ.t-of-lBy, and a comer of this tract;

THENCE north 0° 15 t west, along the west line of said newly acquired
right-of-way, 85 feet to the beginn)ng cor.ner of this tract.
(Said property being located in the 3400 a.nd 3500 Blocks of Parkway
Drive).
BE AND THE SAl>tE IS Hereby changed and/or placed in fire zone No. 2 and the
"FIRE ZONE MAP OF THE. CITY OF LUBBOCKtr duplicate original located in the Build-
ing Inspector's office shall be amended in accordance withwith by the Building
Inspector or at his direction, and this change shall constitute an amendment to
Fire Zoning Ordinance No. 1447 and Section 1601, Part IV, Chapter 16 of the
Lubbock City Code, relative to fire zones.
SEer ION 2. The rule requiring an ordinance to be read on two readings before
final passage is hereby suspended, and this ordinance is declared to be an emer-
gency measure for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereof, to take effect
immediately after its passage.
