ORDINANCE NO. 3630
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANC\};-N~~ i6~~~JD THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 953: CHANGE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED
ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF E..!\STTITH STREET IN THE 1400 BLOCK AS MORE
PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF TinS ORDINANCE FROM AN
"R-211 TO AN "R-311 ZONING DISTRICT. SUBJECT TO CONDITION.
WHEREAS, theproposed change inzoning districts as hereinafter made ha
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommena-
tion, which was received by the City Commission anaafter due consideration, the
City Commission finds thatmaking the proposed change as hereinafter set out will
be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions p~ecedent required by law for a valid amendmenti
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with~ as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 1011£, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953, I and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more
, than fifteen {15) days prior to the date of the public hearing bef.or.e ~the :City Com-
mission on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said
notice was duly held in the Assembly Room of the Central Fire Station Building,

I located at 503 Avenue Kin Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in
I support of the proposal; and., after said hearing, it was by the City Commission
I determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that
the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter
I
set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced
in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and!
the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit
ZONE CASE NO. 953
Change the following described property, to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point in Section 3, Block 0, Lubbock County,
Texas, from which point the Southeast corner of said Section
bears South 686 feet and East 632. 5 feet;
THENCE West 694 feet to a point, being the Northwest corner of
this tract;
THENCE South 110 feet to a point being the Southwest corner of
this tract;
THENCE East 694 feet to a point being the Southeast corner of
this tract;
THENCE North 110 feet to a point, being the Northeast corner of
this tract; from au "R-2.11 to an "R-311 Zoning District. (Said pro-
perty being located on the South side of East 17th Street in the 1400
Block). Subject to the following. condition:
(1) That one paved, off-street parking space be provided for each
unit of an apartment development1 and one space for each 200 square
feet of building area for other than residential development.

SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinancelt said lotslt tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof
shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended
in accordance herewith. ·
AND IT IS SO ORDERED
