AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FIRE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO
PLACE PROPERTY CHANGED IN ZONING CLASSIFICATION (ZONE CASE NO •. 932 )
IN FIRE ZONE NO., 2; AND DEGL4RlNG AN EMERGENCY AND EFFECfiVE DATE OF THIS
ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that in. all zone changes to the ncu Zane
Classifications that such property should be pl~ced in Fire Zone No. 2 ialedi-
a.tely to protect the lives, safety, and property' of the cit~zens of the City of
Lubbock, which creates an emergency; NOW THEREFORE: \
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF, THE CITY OF LUBBOCK':
SECl'ION lo THAT The following described property changed in zone by ORDI-
NANCE NO o 3600 , to-wit:
The east 150 feet of the following described property, to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point 266 fe.et west of a concrete. marker on the northwest boundary
line of P &. S F Railway right-of-way where it intersects the south boundary line
-of State Highway No. 290, aame being the northwest corner of a • 59-acre tract
heretofore conveyed one Bavousette by deed recorded in Volu:me 214, Pa:ge 107
o£ the Deed Reco-rds of ·Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE west along the south
boundary line of said Highway 290, 1.22. 8 feet! THENCE south 50 feet; THENCE
west 50 feet, stake for corner and the beginning corner of the tract of land to be
conveyed the Grantee; THENCE west 565 feet for the northwest corner of the
tract of land ·heretofore conyeyed Grantors by Buford D. Allen and wife, Kathryn
M. Allen; THENCE. south. with the west boundary line· of said tract 666.3 feet to the
southwest corner, which point is on the north boundary line of the P &. SF Railway
right-o£-way; THENCE in a northeasterly direction along the northwest boundary
of the P & S F Railway right-of-way to a point which is due south o£ the beginning
point of this tract of land, 700 feet more or le-.ss, stake for corner; THENCE
north to the beginning point approximately 600 feet m.ore or lesS'; the area
contains five and one-half acres~ more or less, le.ss 100 feet of extrem.e west side
sold Joe Weadhover on April 7·, 1951, recorded in Volume 422, Page 143 of the
Deed Reco-rds. (Said property being located on the south side of 19th Street in the
vicinity of Peoria Avenue.)
BE AND THE SAME IS Hereby changed and/or placed in fire zone No. 2 and the
"FIRE ZONE MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK" duplicate original located in the Build-
ing Inspector's office shall be amended in accordance hereWith by the Building
Inspector or at his direction$ and this change shall. constitute an amendment to
Fire Zoning Ordinance No. 1447 and Section 1601, Part IV, Chapter 16 of the
Lubbock City Code.9 relative to fire zones.,
SECTION 2., The rule requiring an ordinance to be read on two readings before
final passage is hereby suspended, an.d this ordinance is declared to be an emer-
gency measure for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereof, to take effect
immediately after its passage.,
