AN ORDINANCE DELETING THE YEARLY $40.00 PERMIT FEE PROVI-
SIONS OF SECTION 15·50, REGULATION 3 (A), VOLUME I OF THE LUBBOCK -
CITY CODE WITH RESPECT TO PUBLIC AND SEMI-PUBLIC SWIMMING POOLS;
24 DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND PRESCRIBING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF
THIS ORDINANCE.

WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the $40. 00 yearly permit fee for
public and semi-public swimming pools should be deleted from the Lubbock City
Code; and,
WHEREAS, this Ordinance affects the daily operation of the Health Depart-
ment of the City of Lubbock which creates an emergency; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Regulation 3 (a), Section 15-50 of Volume I of the
Lubbock City Code which reads as follows:
11 REGULATION 3. PERMITS; PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
REQUIRED; INSPECTION AND REVOCATION BY
HEALTH OFFICER.
(a) Permits. No public or semi-public swimming pool shall
be maintained or operated in the city without a permit in force
issued by the health department, or otherwise than in accordance
with the terms of the permit and these regulations. The permit
shall be displayed in the conspicuous place on the premises where
it may be readily observed by patrons. The yearly operating
permit fee shall be $40. 00 for both public pools and semi-public
pools. Municipally owned pools shall be exempt from permit
fee. All such permits shall expire December 31 each year."
BE AND THE SAME IS hereby amended so as to read hereafter as follows:

SECTION 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measur
for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereof, and the rule requiring two read-
ings of an Ordinance before final passage is hereby suspended, and this Ordinance
shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
