AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY'OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 993: CHANGE LOTS 1, 2, AND 3,. BLOCK 1,
ARMSTRONG-ALLDREDGE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,. LUBBOCK
COUNTY., TEXAS,. FROM AN "R-211 TO AN "R-311 ZONING DISTRICT. (SAID
PROPERTY IS LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTIO ·
OF AVENUE P AND 44TH STREET.) SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIO~:
THAT THE USE OF THE PROPERTY SHALL BE USES PERMITTED IN THE "R-2 1
ZONING DISTRICT., PLUS KINDERGARTEN AND DAY NURSERY USE.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda-
tion, which wa s received by the City Commission and after due consideration,
the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out
will be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section 20 i>f Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 1011f, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953,
and not ice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more
than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the Ciiy Com-
mission on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said
notice was duly held in the Assembly Room of the Central Fire Station Building,
V located at 503 Avenue Kin Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in
support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission
determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that
'the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter
set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced
in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW .. THEREFORE,
1 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
II I SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and
1 the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 993
Change Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 1, Armstrong-Alldredge Addition to
the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from an "R-2" to an
11R-311 zoning district. (Said property is located at the Southwest
corner of the intersection of Avenue P and 44th Street.) Subject to
the following condition: THAT the use of the property shall be uses
permitted in the "R ... 2" zoning district, plus kindergarten and day
nursery use.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordi-
nam:;e, said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be
changed to the zoning district indicated and the O~fici:al Map is amended in
accordance herewith.
