AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 3643 AS FINALLY PASSED

, IN CONFORMITY TO THE EFFECT OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that on the 14th day of December,
1961, Ordinance No. 3643 was finally passed, said Ordinance purporting to
abandon and close a portion of Bates Street, Linden Avenue and an alley of
Block 2, Gorden-Bozeman Addition to the City of Lubbock, all as more particular y
described in said Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, as a prerequisite to the passage of said Ordinance No. 3643 it
was determined on the basis of incomplete information that none of said portion
of streets or alley were needed any longer for street. ,alley or any other public
use; and,
WHEREAS, complete examination of the streets and alley involved in said
Ordinance No. 3643 reveals that such streets and alley are in fact still essential
to the public use, and that a utility line is actually located within a part of such
area; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is necessary and essential
and in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock that said Ordinance
No. 3643 be repealed; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 3643 as finally passed by the City Com-
mission on the 14th day of December, 1961, the caption to said Ordinance read-
ing as follows:
"An Ordinance abandoning and closing a portion of Bates Street,
Linden Avenue and an alley in Block 2, Gordon Bozeman Addition to
the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, as more particularly
described in the body of this Ordinance; and Directing the City Engi-
neer to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate the
closing and abandonment of said portion of Bates Street, Linden Avenue,
and the Alley as aforesaid. 11
BE and the same is hereby REPEALED.
SECTION 2. The City Secretary-Treasurer shall cause a notation to be
made in the margin of the Minute Book where said Ordinance No. '3643 appears
to indicate the repeal of such Ordinance.
SECTION 3. The City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate. that the streets and alley more

particularly described in said Ordinance No. 3643 remain open to the public
use.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED
