ORDINANCE NO. 3710
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY. OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWINGj
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 971 : CHANGE LOT 6 .. BLOCK 5, MASSEY HEIGH S
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY~· TEXAS, -FR0M
AN "R-2" TO AN "R-3" ZONING DISTRICT. {SAID PROPERTY BEING LOCA-
TED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF 33RD STREET IN THE 2400 BLOCK). SUBJECT
TO CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made ha
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda-j
tion, which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration, th
City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out
will be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 1011f, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953,
and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more
than fifteen {15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City.Com
mission on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said
notice was duly held in the Assembly Room of the Central Fire Station Building,
located at 503 Avenue Kin Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in
support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission
determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that
the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter
set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this·Ordinance having been introduced
' in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW,. THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE an
the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO .. 971
Change Lot 6, Block 5, Massey Heights Addition to the City of
Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from an rrR-2" to an "R-3"
zoning district ... {Said property being located on the South side
of 33rd Street in the 2400 Block}. Subject to the following
conditions:
1. That a minimum ratio of one paved, off-street parking space
per apartment unit be provided.
2. That a maximum of six apartment units shall be permitted upon
the property.

SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance) said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof
shall be changed to the zoning d~strict indicated and the Official Map is amended
in accordance herewith.
