AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY·OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 970: CHANGE LOTS 1 AND 2, HORD-BUCHANAN
SUBDIVISION, AN ADDITIONTo THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,. LUBBOCK COUNTY,
TEXAS,. FROM AN "R-2" TO AN "R-3u ZONING DISTRICT. (SAID PROPERTY
BEING LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF
22ND PLACE AND MEMPHIS AVENUE}. SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda-j
tion, which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration, th
City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out
will be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS. all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article 101lf, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953,
and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more th
fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commis=
sion on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said
notice was duly held in the Assembly Room of the Central Fire Station Building,
located at 503 Avenue Kin Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in
support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission
determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions,
that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended inthe manner herein-
after set forth in the body o f this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been
introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW, THEREFOR ·:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE
and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO.. 970 :
Change Lots 1 and 2, Herd-Buchanan Subdivision, an addition to
the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from an "R-2" to
an "R-311 zoning district. (Said property being located at the South-
West corner of the intersection of 22nd Place and i\temphis Avenue).
Subject to the following conditions:
1. That the developp1ent ·of the property for clinic or hospital use
shall conform to "Development Standarss Methodist Hospital Clinic
Arean as established by the Planning and Zoning Commission on
November 3, 1960.
2. That the development of the property fo.r apartment use shall
conform to the following requirements:

a. That a minimum ratio of one paved, off-street
parking space per apartment unit be provided.
b. That the alley bepaved with concrete paving at the
developer's expense.
c. That a minimum ratio of 1500 square feet of lot area
per apartment unit be provided.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance, said lots, tracts and ·.parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof
shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended
in accordance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED
Passed by the Commission on first reading this 25th day of J auary
1962.
Passed by the Commission on second reading this 8th day of February
1962.
