AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWINd
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 966 CHANGE .THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED I
PROPERTY BEING LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTER-
SECTION OF 29TH STREET AND JUNIPER AVENUE FROM 11R-2" TO AN 11R-3"
ZONING DISTRICT.,
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made ha
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommenda-
tion, which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration,
the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out
will be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as
giving notices in compliance with Section 20, of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as
notices provided by Article lOllf, Vernon1 s Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in
1953, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal
more than fifteen (15} days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City
Commission on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to
said notice was duly held in the Assembly Room of the Central Fire Station Build
ing, located at 503 Avenue Kin Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared
in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commissio
determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that I
the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter
set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced
in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW# THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the0fficial Zoning Map BE and
the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 966 :
Change the following described property, ~o.-wit:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the East line of Juniper Avenue
and the South line of East 28th Street;
THENCE East a distance of 140 feet;
THENCE South a distance of 278 feet;
THENCE North 71 °-18' West a distance of 45.05 feet to a point of
curvature;
THENCE along a 256. 78 foot radius curve to the left a distance of
83. 81 feet to a point of tangency;
THENCE West a distance of 15 feet;
THENCE North a distance of 250 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
from an 11R-2" to an "R-3" Zoning District. (Said property being
located at the Southeast corner of the intersec tion of 28th Street
and Juniper Avenue). ·
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance, said lots. tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof
shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended
in accordance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED
Passed by the Commission on first reading this 25th day of J anuary
1962.
